This Baked Beans with Bacon Breadcrumbs recipe didn’t make my original list for this month; however, with a July 4th cookout approaching, I decided to give it a try.
If you like thick sauced, sweet, super flavorful baked beans, then this recipe is for you.  Because I tend to like thin sauced, savory (with just a hint of sweetness) and simple baked beans, these weren’t my favorite (and will not be making my 4th of July menu).
I was excited for the bacon panko topping, however it dried out these thick sauced beans even more.
Brian liked the beans best without the panko topping as well.  Overall, he gave this recipe “one and one quarter” thumbs up.
